There is an abundance of local producers near Charmouth from whom Sheila can choose her ingredients, such as Devon Rose organic and free range beef, lamb and pork as well as dairy produce from Longmans Farm. The area has become synonymous with quality, local produce, and now, just down the road in Axminster, we have Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's first River Cottage food store.
After thirty years in the catering industry, Sheila Gilbey is as passionate as ever about food and cooking. Having run her own restaurant, Jollys in Newton Poppleford, Sheila moved on to develop recipe ideas for a large food producer in the West Country, as well as producing a food DVD programme, and continuing her catering business.
Over the years, Sheila has developed her own unique style, which uses fine local produce, and influences from other cultures, to create varied and adventurous menus, which satisfy a whole array of tastes
The restaurant has a full license and we offer a selection of 'old and new world' wines, local beers, lagers, spirits and liqueurs.
